Welcome to
Southeastern Fiber Products
SOUTHEASTERN FIBER PRODUCTS is privately owned enterprise located at Zone 3, Sta. Elena, Malinao, Albay, Philippines. Owned and managed by Mr. ROMEL C. CANICULA, who has been in the business for twenty five years of experience.
One of the company’s major product is the – Coco Geo-Nets / Textile out of coconut husks. It uses a BIO-ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY where coco fiber nets are installed in erosion or landslide-risk areas such as slopes, river and shorelines, mountain or mining rehabilitation. It has been proven that this geo-textile net is the most superior than any other geo jutes when applied as an erosion control system.
Coir being of natural organic matter retains water equivalent to its own weight, when laid it adheres to the surface allowing immediate control of the site. Alongside producing coco fiber, the 70% of the husk becomes coco peat or dust. This is another product of the company that is used as raw materials for producing organic fertilizer. In a recent study, coco peat is ideal for production of eco-plywood thereby serving as opportunity for more environmentally protected means of doing business.
OUR GOAL
Our goal is to introduce the use of natural product like coco fiber and all it can contribute to our customers from coco peat, coco ropes, geo-textiles, coco logs used as Bio-Engineering Products as end products. Consequently, we can maximize returns of investment thus creating more jobs and at the same time, contribute our share of promoting a cleaner and greener future.
OUR MISSION
To build a link between investors, government agencies and subcontractors to promote the usage of coir geo-textile nets in preventing natural calamities through the use of the latest technologies in producing quality coco fiber, forest plantation developments, provide management and technical coco coir experience that will enable the country’s forest area, railways and the road by the use of geo-textile nets. To rapidly expand and meet the coir needs of both the local and export markets, as well as enhance our impacts towards a cleaner and greener environment.
OUR VISIONS
Well managed forest plantations, railroads, minings, highways and road projects providing socio-economic and environmental benefits on sustained basis to rural commercialized communities, and the country as a whole.
COCO PEATS AND ITS ADVANTAGES
The properties of Coco Peat makes it resistant to bacterial and fungal growth. So Coco peat is a multipurpose growing medium that provides new opportunities for Potting Mix Suppliers, Seedling Nurseries, Hydroponic Growers & Golf Green Constructors. Proven natural alternative to mined peat moss, therefore using it helps slow down peat extraction from environmentally sensitive swamps worldwide. It holds water rather than shedding it like traditional peat does. It retains water 8-9 times of its weight. It has the ability to store and release nutrients to plants for extended periods. It also has great oxygenation properties that are important for healthy root development. 100% Organic, eco friendly soil conditioner.
Environmental Benefits
- Beneficial for human, animals, birds and environmental cleanliness
- Slow degradation due to high lignin and cellulose content.
- It resists direct sunlight and act as a shield to the earth.
- High porosity stores and releases nutrients gradually as per the need of the plant .
- Wet ability without wetting agents
- Great physical resiliency that withstand compression better.
- Excellent aeration / oxygenation enhancing root penetration
- Acceptable Caution Exchange Capacity (ECE) and Electrical Conductivity (EC) below 0.5
- Contains natural substance and beneficial microbes for plant growth
- Colorless, odourless, organic product enriching nature with climatic control
GEOTEXTILE NETS
Nets are made out of coco fiber used for soil erosion prevention and forest fires: normally used for railroads, highways and roadways. It provides planar water flow in addition to stabilization of soil application access roads, aggregate drains, asphalt overlays, and erosion control. Defined as any permeable textile material increases stability and decrease wind and water erosion.
SOCIO-ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL ADVANTAGES
- Coco peats and Geotextile Nets could earn for the country millions of dollars in exports, and provide additional income and livelihood to hundreds of thousands of small coconut farmers and their families in the countryside.
- Philippine Coconut Authority Administrator Euclides G. Forbes said geo-textiles or “cocomats” serve as erosion control material that are laid on mountain slopes, river banks and dam embankments. Coconut fibers are also transformed into twine or yarn, while fine coco fibers are used in making beds or mattresses. Coconut peat or dust is used as organic fertilizer, soil conditioner, or animal bedding.
- Provides opportunities to export coco peats and geo nets to China and other leading countries which uses these materials as fertilizers and for soil erosion prevention.
- Improves forest plantation, railroads, and highways because of the natural uses of coco peats as fertilizers and soil erosion prevention (geo-nets).
